The only project management association with an established academic research program, PMI has invested more than $14 million in support of dozens of research projects since 1997.

In commemoration of their 40th year of established excellence, we take members through four decades of time-honored project management achievements. Realizing, that nearly half a million people came together to make “… one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Imagining, the careful coordination of diverse skill sets by individuals around the globe to map the human DNA, through a $3 billion effort called the Human Genome Project.
